It has been an exciting ride reading through the Boomer’s Tales series, and this last book is a finale with a flourish. The themes of friendship, music, respect for others, overcoming adversity, and actions-have-consequences — which have been woven through the entire series – all come together for a satisfying close in this final piece. One thing I like about this author’s work is her use of correct grammar to help children learn to read at higher levels. Another is the way she tells the story in puzzle pieces; I feel that this encourages critical thinking and helps to develop problem solving skills. Whether you are still reading to your child, or they are now reading on their own, this would be a great addition to your collection. I’m really glad I bought this book!
“Leaving No Bones Unturned”, the sixth and last book in the Boomer’s Tales series, is a real page turner!
In it, the characters make another new friend, around whom, adventures take place. In making this new friend, the characters learn about competitive swimming, a new culture, and how our legal system deals with vandalism. As with all the books in this wonderful series, elements of respect and acceptance for diversity are seen through its characters, both human and animal. The thread of love for music always binds the story and its characters together in a happy ending for all! The glossary at the end of the book defines and explains new words and terminology for this age level and for adult readers also!
